A few weeks ago I ordered an Android TV box called U BOX i one (i828) from gearbest.com. To my suprise, the updated YouTube app only played videos at 360p resolution. The stock app works fine, but I wanted to use the latest one. After googling a while I found a Japanese site with the fix:
- Install Build Prop editor
- Set these key-value pairs:

Optionally you may need to open a terminal before rebooting and enter these commands:
1 2 3 4 | su wm size 2560x1440 wm density 320 reboot |
And after the system booted up:
1 2 3 | su wm size reset wm density reset |

Hi, I have U box (i818). Does this work for that device, because I have the same problem as you, It only plays 360p? Is it not dangerous to brick device when you set these settings? And the last question how to know when to use terminal because as you mentioned is optional?
Or maybe do you know another youtube app that can be set up to 1080p?
I don’t know any other YouTube app, but I think these modifications will work for you. You can brick your device with invalid build.prop settings. If it won’t play 1080p after build.prop modifications, then you have to run those terminal commands.

I made the modifications using build prop editor.
I have M8S 2G/8G device and i bricked it.
After 2 hours of forum readings i brought it back to life by reflashing the firmware but please keep in mind. These settings will not work for all devices.

Better use older Youtube player version. I have 6.0.13 and i have 720P maximum. With newer version i have only 360P on my device.

HI ! I have this U-box I-828, many thanks for your help, it works though in 720 p. In 1080 it freezes in youtube. However I have an other problem, I would like to use Skype and dictate via microphe with bluetooth headset, but it cannot recognize mic, though i can hear headphone. Can you help me in this?
