I’ve used a Canon HV30 HD camera with a self-made 35mm adaptor on it. The adaptor has a Canon EE-s screen and a Zeiss achromat lens. This allows me to use my standard Nikkor/Nikon SLR lenses on the camcorder with very shallow DOF and nice image.I don’t have time for this hobby so I sold my Canon camera in December 2013, but kept the other stuff for my retired years. ;)
I’m using a Manfrotto 755BK tripod with a 501HDV head. I have an old 1000W studio light for macro videos and indoor footage.
For sound recording I use my Rode NT4, mounted on the rod support’s top handle and a Shure FP24 field mixer, connected to the camcorder. Here are some (old) pics of the system:
